Disappearing Herbs

HERBAL REMEDIES TO BE TAKEN AWAY FROM THE GENERAL PUBLIC

Almost all herbal remedies will disappear from shelves throughout the UK and  Europe when new EU legislation comes into force on the 1^st of May this year.

 You will no longer be able to buy remedies such as Meadowsweet for arthritis, Hawthorn for circulatory problems and Red Clover for premenstrual syndrome.

Why is this happening?

 Under the new legislation manufacturers have to licence their products (a single herb is classed as a product), which can cost up to £150,000. So far only 26 companies have licensed 79 products.

What can you do?

Medical Herbalists will still have access to these herbs so consult your local Herbalist who will be able to advise you.
